The Vatican

With an area of 0.44 square kilometres the Vatican is the smallest country in the world and also the center of the Catholic Church. The country houses the largest church in the world, St Peter’s Basilica.

Monaco

This country is all of 2 square kilometres and is famous for its gambling scene as well as the serviceindustry and luxury goods available. It is the most densely populated country with 36,000 as its population among which are many millionaires and billionaires.

Nauru

This small country is located east of Australia and has an area of 21 square kilometres. It was formerly known for its phosphate mining but after the resource got depleted it has the highest rate of unemployment as well as most obese people in the world too.

Tuvalu

This 26 square kilometre area wide country is located west of Australia. The small country has only 10,000 residents and is not easily accessible by tourists.

San Marino

The third smallest country in Europe, San Marino has an area of 61 square kilometres. The total inhabitants equal 30,000 and the country has the world’s lowest unemployment rate.

Liechtenstein

This 160 square kilometres country is situated between Austria and Switzerland. The country does not have an airport and still has a prince too. Additionally it has the highest GDP per capita making it the richest country.

Saint Kitts and Nevis

The country of 2 islands is 261 square kilometres situated in the Caribbean. The country is known as a tourist destination along with having agriculture and other manufacturing industries as sources of income.

Maldives

All of 300 square kilometres Maldives is an island country in the Pacific Ocean is Asia’s smallest country. The country has a flourishing tourism economy attracting many tourists to its pristine beaches.

Malta

An island country of 316 square kilometres, Malta is situated in the Mediterranean Sea and has a population of 450,000 inhabitants. The country with a rich historic background and beaches and sunny weather it is a famous tourist destination.

Grenada

This Caribbean island of 344 square kilometres is a country famous for its production of nutmeg and mace crop and therefore also known as “The Island of Spice”.  Once a French colony the tourist destination still has a strong French influence.
